Sweater Dress Weather

I have never owned a sweater dress. For 5$ I am definitely not disappointed and quite proud of myself for actually wearing it. If anything..it's surprisingly warm. This whole outfit was under $30, bam, fist pump! I'm pretty excited to have this dress for fall, eeeee! 

Intergalactic Planetary

The forecast has been pretty doom and gloom but there have been a few surprising days, that sneaky sun isn't ready to leave just yet either I suppose but grandfather fall makes his presence known, bellowing icy winds to bite at my ankles (especially since I'm still insisting on shorts whenever possible!). And leaves, oh the leaves! Fall reminds me about the trees. Really. The trees spend all summer in solid greens painting the summer backdrop perfectly, there but not distracting from summer's fun, come fall however it's their time to burst into flames of vivid colors and dazzle me, 'we're goin' out with a bang!'

I really appreciate the friendships that support me, sounds a bit corny but I'm not even kidding! For example, a recent conversation went like this..."I think I just bought a table cloth but I don't even care I have to wear it, how big, for a scarf, is too big?"and the epic response, "NEVER TOO BIG." Yeah dude, thanks!! Here is said table cloth scarf, tree colored if you will and an excellent thrift I might add. I doubled it over and wrapped it twice, securing the ends with a thrifted broach that might just match too much.

Fall Fever

Is there such a thing as Fall overload? Definitely not! I for one am not sick of seeing Fall fever all around and even in the blogosphere. I'm having some serious Fall butterflies in my tummy, I'm just so in love! I've been missing Fall from my life for a couple years now so everyday I'm giddy to just see it everywhere around me! Normally I decorate and that's my inside Fall but this year it's reversed with TONS of Fall outside and I actually haven't been able to decorate at all. This of course makes me a bit little sad, but at least I can step outside and see real Fall decorating for me. Of course Pinterest is giving me serious Fall envy but at least if I can't actually do it I can want to do it, haha! Ode to Fall

My oxfords were feeling a little bland, here and here. So, in my true essence I decided to sparkle them up! I'm super pleased with how they turned out aaaand they are getting me super excited for Fall! I need more pumpkin in my wardrobe. 

Trying out the hi-low hem above. This skirt falls a few inches below my knees, so I've been testing it at different lengths in the hopes of hemming it (sadly my sewing machine is far away in storage!). The same with my shirt....why are these sleeves so long!? I'll never know. I always buy concert T's, even though they never seem to fit anybody right, and plan to do neat stuff with them which I never end up doing. Add it to the long list of alterations! So the skirt, to go shorter or not to go shorter?

As I was shooting this outfit I happened to notice my roommates most excellent top hat sitting well within reach, so why not?! I added a top hat! 

Said most excellent top hat is a creation of Bubbles & Frown, who makes amazing custom designs as well as a whole slew of incredible feather headdresses. I love fall, October and Halloween...in fact I think this house is going to be spookified in the very near future!
