The Paisley Gypsy

This is definitely a comfy day outfit, especially now that some days are starting off a little cooler and a little damp. Long skirts are the easiest way to try without really trying at all, I love that. The only downside to this particular ensemble is that I have no pockets, which is nearly essential for me at work. The pocket belt I have doesn't fit my phone so I went to this local place, Mishu, to pick out one that would. They were clearing out all damaged products in 10$ bins so in addition to picking up a belt with a 'broken' snap I got a few other goodies.
Phone fits, yay! Thanks to the saleswoman who actually reminded me to test the pockets with my phone first before leaving, success!
These earrings, also from Mishu, jingle jangle throughout the day and between the tinkling silver and paisley I feel most gypsy. I love this vintage necklace (it's plastic!) and whether or not it actually matches this shirt I love to pair them together.

Wandering in the Paisley Forest

What a beautiful green forrest, what a great green adventure!!!
We had a few hours to enjoy an evening stroll through the woods! Evening now for me extends from after work about 6 or 6:30 to 8:30 when the sun is finally starting to set  - these few extra hours of light are so wonderful to have! My post yesterday covered the hiking details but I also wanted to share a few of this outfit since I unintentionally matched my surroundings quite well! And also...LOOK AT THOSE TINY LITTLE TAILS! Yea, still getting used to SHORT HAIR!!  : D
I bought this shirt a few weeks ago when some friends invited us out to the Neptune, a 90 year old Seattle theatre, to see Keller Williams who I had never seen live. It was a good show and a beautiful venue, with a cool mermaid bathroom! We're slowly checking off the local venues, but I can't wait to go back to the Neptune.
These two shots totally encompass the feeling of this thrifted skirt, swirly, twirly, jumping, dancing fun! Paisley can be intense, chaotic and dare I say outdated?! But, still love it, even if it clashes with all the green. Like I said it's thrifted, so it is currently missing a top button but I couldn't wait to wear it so voila yellow belt! My favorite part of the outfit though are these Tree of Life earrings from Nature's Twist in Seattle! So beautiful and so sparkly!

And I have to end this post with the glorious birthday backpack because I truly do love it. It was a such a wonderful, thoughtful and functional gift! I'm super pumped to break it in the summer, rub sum durrt on it!!

All Dressed Up & Feeling Glamourous

I want to add about 10 more rhinestone necklaces and bracelets to this outfit and top it off with a rhinestone tiara, then sit around and drink tea all day. Basically how I picture myself at 80 years old, plus some cats. And by some cats I mean ALL THE CATS! And the sad thing is, when I'm 80 years old I will still probably buy shoes like this - I'll buy them to stare at and dream about...basically everything I do with these shoes now. Yes, I have a problem. I love shoes. I especially love ridiculous shoes that I have no business owning. Watching me in heels is like watching a newborn giraffe learning to stand...funny, awkward and kinda painful. Not cute. At all. However, once in a blue moon I get to take out the heals, leave the inhibitions and spend a night embarrassing myself and baby giraffe's everywhere!
Originally I was thinking 'all dressed up & no where to go' but that sounded a little depressing. Although true, I did not have anywhere fancy to go when I put on this outfit, I just had some time and wanted to play. These are actually kinda old photos...but they're still fun!

I have this sparkly awesome maroon skirt that I wanted to wear with these tops...but sometimes I'm just not sure if it's too much, too crazy. I like to mix patterns & prints but I can get carried away easily and it can be a bit much even for me. But then I look at these pictures and I'm kinda disappointed with the bottom...so plain! But maybe you need pieces of plain for balance....?! Also, this skirt looks black but its actually purple...just throwin' that out there.

I reached a new level of obsession with these shoes. I love them, I actually love this pair of shoes. Yup. Sadly, they are not Jeffrey Campbell but they were the closest I'll probably ever get since they were only about 20 bucks!! Ahh, I love them even more.

Blue Hair, Blue Shorts

I think I have an obsession with blue shorts, but this was the very first blue pair I bought. I love these, I think it's the buttons.
I really do love the pattern of this shirt, Target! It's my, feeling fancy without getting too fancy, shirt.
Is it just me or do paisley and rhinestones look great together? It might just be me, I love rhinestones, I often have rhinestone overload.
