Grey Cloud

I kinda feel like a little grey cloud in this outfit. There are some days when all I want to do is stay curled up underneath blankies, all warm and cozy. This outfit is my translation of that feeling, so I could still mentally be in bed all day! Because this oversized sweater sometimes puffs up and makes me look suuuuper big on top I like to pair it with less on the bottom, like here with shorts and tights. The mornings are pretty chilly, but the afternoons warm enough to get away with tights on some days so I'm taking advantage of that for as long as possible!
When wearing all one color, or muted colors, I really like to have little pops of color or bits of whimsy, hence the blue tank, the red shoes and of course polka dot tights! I also have been wearing my labradorite a lot recently, especially with a simple outfit like this, it really stands out.

Sweater Dress Weather

I have never owned a sweater dress. For 5$ I am definitely not disappointed and quite proud of myself for actually wearing it. If anything..it's surprisingly warm. This whole outfit was under $30, bam, fist pump! I'm pretty excited to have this dress for fall, eeeee!

Comfy, Cozy, Drizzly Day

This is another of my Nature's Twist pendants! This stone is Cherry Creek Jasper and I'm surprised that this is the first time it's been in a post since I probably wear this one the most! I need to post a good detail picture because the colors are incredible.

New vest and skirt on supersale yaya! I'm excited to be layering both of these pieces for fall and winter too. I'm also excited to pull out my superstar handwarmers because they are amazing and totally practical. This was a super simple, super cozy, lazy day kinda outfit. I have to say that I've been wanting to take pictures in my friends' amazing back patio for a while now and I finally did! Next time I may just have to photography the garden; it's so relaxing back there that if it weren't for the blackberry brambles and 90 degree incline I would tent squat back there hee hee.

Intergalactic Planetary

The forecast has been pretty doom and gloom but there have been a few surprising days, that sneaky sun isn't ready to leave just yet either I suppose but grandfather fall makes his presence known, bellowing icy winds to bite at my ankles (especially since I'm still insisting on shorts whenever possible!). And leaves, oh the leaves! Fall reminds me about the trees. Really. The trees spend all summer in solid greens painting the summer backdrop perfectly, there but not distracting from summer's fun, come fall however it's their time to burst into flames of vivid colors and dazzle me, 'we're goin' out with a bang!'
I really appreciate the friendships that support me, sounds a bit corny but I'm not even kidding! For example, a recent conversation went like this..."I think I just bought a table cloth but I don't even care I have to wear it, how big, for a scarf, is too big?"and the epic response, "NEVER TOO BIG." Yeah dude, thanks!! Here is said table cloth scarf, tree colored if you will and an excellent thrift I might add. I doubled it over and wrapped it twice, securing the ends with a thrifted broach that might just match too much.

Candy Apple Red

I can't tell you how excited I am to be living in a place that changes seasons!!! Fall is certainly here with brisk mornings, leafy afternoons and pumpkin pumpkin everywhere. September always makes me think of apples and back to school, maybe that's why I keep feeling 'back to school' inspired in the morning. With apples on the brain I keep styling entire outfits around this apple clock pendant, I love it! Both this cheetah top and the African Queen pin are thrifts and the pants and cardigan are old standbys. The apple pendant was a gift and my favorite thing about it, aside from telling the time, is the little rhinestones that float around inside! Happy back to school!

Market Dress

I've been avoiding the fact that summer is definitely over in the PNW so I forgot all about this dress post. As soon as I tried on this breezy, cotton dress I knew it was a market dress! A day at work can get grimy so basically a work dress is one that allows me to do my thang; push my cart, jump on/over tables, occasionally spill things...but also stay comfy!

It's got pockets, for snacks! Or for my phone, keys, random pocket fillings...pockets are perfect for a market dress.
I love crazy pattern mixing (hence this zebraesque cardigan over top) and this dress has a moderately graphic pattern - wavy lines and circles. Pretty simple. It's plain enough for me to mix with but interesting enough to stand on it's own so I'm excited to try styling it other ways.
One thing that stumps me is what jewelry to wear with it. I wore a mismatched but still matching (?) set of costume crystals but I'm also excited to play around with other jewelry. I think my favorite accessory is the Hamlet tattoo. Even though the tattoo's not real I did like having it there...definitely the next place I would consider getting inked. Heh.

Lip'ster

I love this shirt. It's the type of shirt that makes getting dressed easy since it does half the work. Ok, more like three quarters of the work. All I have to do is put this shirt on over pretty much anything and I love it. It's flowwy and sassy and laid back. I like that in a shirt.
These glasses are so much fun to wear! They're cheapos but definitely have the fun and whimsy that I need to get through the workday; I notice lots of smiles when I'm wearing them and lots of confused stares from kids...I like to think it's expanding their imaginations haha.

The Paisley Gypsy

This is definitely a comfy day outfit, especially now that some days are starting off a little cooler and a little damp. Long skirts are the easiest way to try without really trying at all, I love that. The only downside to this particular ensemble is that I have no pockets, which is nearly essential for me at work. The pocket belt I have doesn't fit my phone so I went to this local place, Mishu, to pick out one that would. They were clearing out all damaged products in 10$ bins so in addition to picking up a belt with a 'broken' snap I got a few other goodies.
Phone fits, yay! Thanks to the saleswoman who actually reminded me to test the pockets with my phone first before leaving, success!
These earrings, also from Mishu, jingle jangle throughout the day and between the tinkling silver and paisley I feel most gypsy. I love this vintage necklace (it's plastic!) and whether or not it actually matches this shirt I love to pair them together.
